Temple Lodge Club – Access Statement
At Temple Lodge Club, we are committed to making all our guests feel welcome and comfortable. We strive to ensure that everyone who stays with us, works with us, or uses our facilities is treated with fairness, respect, and consideration for their individual needs.
This Access Statement is intended to offer helpful information to all guests—particularly those with disabilities or additional access needs—so they can make informed decisions about their stay. We kindly ask that you let us know of any specific requirements or disabilities when making an enquiry or booking, so we can do our best to accommodate you. Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of our building, there are no rooms available with step-free access.
Temple Lodge Club is a well-established Guest House located in Hammersmith, West London, adjacent to The Christian Community Church. Temple Lodge Club Ltd is the subsidiary trading company of The Christian Community in London Ltd, a registered charity.
Accommodation Overview
- 4 en-suite bedrooms:
- 1 on the second floor (accessible only by stairs)
- 3 located in the garden (accessible by steps only; not step-free)
- 4 single rooms:
- 2 with private showers
- 2 with shared bathroom facilities
(All located on the first floor)
- 2 double rooms:
- With private shower or bath facilities (first floor)
- 2 twin rooms and 1 double room:
- With shared bathroom/shower facilities (second floor)
- Public areas: Breakfast Room, Library, Reception, and Conference Room are all on the ground floor but are not step-free accessible.

- We are located in Hammersmith, West London—a lively area with many shops, cafés, and restaurants (0.3–0.5 miles away).
- Nearby services:
- Pharmacy (King Street, W6 – approx. 0.5 miles)
- Charing Cross Hospital (0.5 miles)
- Hammersmith Underground and Bus Station (0.3 miles) has lift access to platforms and offers easy access across London.
- Local minicab services are available, and we are happy to assist with bookings.
Arrival
- Entrance is via a gate from the public pavement into our courtyard.
- The main front door has three steps and handrails; it can be fully opened for easier access.
- We are happy to assist with luggage on arrival.
Parking
- On-street parking is limited.
- Free parking is available nearby from 10:00 pm to 8:30 am.
- Blue Badge holders may park for free in any shared-use bay within the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
- Please contact us in advance for details on local parking options.
Main Entrance & Reception
- Both front and back doors lead to the ground-floor Reception and Breakfast Room.
- Flooring is level, with original wooden boards and rugs.
- The Reception desk is 82 cm high. While there is no fixed seating at the desk, check-in can be completed while seated if required.
Public Areas
- Corridors are well-lit and carpeted.
- Library and Breakfast Room are on one level with wooden flooring.
- There is no lift access to upper floors.
- A unisex WC is available on the ground floor but has two steps and two doors for access.
- The fire alarm is auditory with emergency lighting.
- One bedroom on the first floor has a visual alarm system.
- Staff are trained to assist with emergency evacuation if necessary.
Breakfast Room, Sitting Area & Library
- Breakfast Room:
- All seating is movable.
- Chairs with and without arms are available.
- Background music is played (can be turned down on request).
- Staff are always on hand to assist.
- Sitting Area:
- One large couch, three single armchairs, and a low-level coffee table.
- Library:
- Four armchairs, one rocking chair, a coffee table, and a table (72 cm high).
Bedrooms
- 6 bedrooms on the first floor (stairs access only)
- 4 bedrooms on the second floor (stairs access only)
- 3 bedrooms in the garden (step access only)
- Room facilities vary and include a mix of en-suite and shared bathroom options.
Additional Information
As a small Guest House in a historic building, we are dedicated to offering warm hospitality and attentive service. While the structure of the property limits our ability to provide step-free access, we aim to comply with all applicable regulations and make every reasonable adjustment to meet guest needs.
